Introduction
I have created and published a printable PDF guide featuring alpine wildflowers photographed along the following trails in the Indian Peaks Wilderness near Brainard Lake:
- Long Lake / Lake Isabelle
- Mitchell Lake / Blue Lake
All photographs were taken during field visits in July, August, and September.
This guide is based on flowers I personally photographed and identified in the field.
About This Guide
Because I often struggle to remember plant names, I originally created this guide for myself. I fold it and carry it in my pocket while hiking so I can quickly confirm species on the trail.
This published version is a cleaned-up and formatted edition of my original field reference.
Each photo includes the common name and the scientific name in parentheses.
Although all plant names have been checked against multiple sources, please be aware that some identifications may not be 100% accurate. This guide is for field reference only.
